Last year, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers were denied permission by the Arizona Cardinals to interview John McNulty for the offensive coordinator position.
A season later, the Bucs and head coach Greg Schiano have finally added McNulty to the staff. McNulty will replace Ron Turner, who left to become the head coach at Florida International University, as the team's quarterbacks coach.
McNulty worked with Schiano at Rutgers for five seasons, three of which he spent as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. After that, McNulty went to the Cardinals in 2009 and spent three seasons as the team's wide receivers coach. Last season, he was Arizona's quarterbacks coach.
It will be interesting to see how McNulty can help Josh Freeman, who is coming off a season in which he threw for over 4,000 yards and a franchise record 27 touchdown passes.
