They've been so good for so long that both of them will be in the Hall of Fame someday (although Manning will undoubtedly get in sooner than Barber).
But Barber, 37, and Manning, 36, don't seem to be slowing down despite Father Time creeping up on on them and both are still playing at an extremely high level as they prepare to face each other this Sunday when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers travel out West to take on the Denver Broncos.
Barber, who is in his first season at free safety after 15 great years at cornerback, is currently the leading vote-getter among NFC free safeties, and has 62 tackles, 12 passes defensed, four interceptions, 1.0 sack, and one forced fumble.
Across the field from Barber will be Manning, who is in his first season with the Broncos. The 4-time MVP is putting together another brilliant season and is the top overall vote-getter in the NFL for the Pro Bowl. Manning is completing 67.7 percent of his passes for 3,260 yards with 26 touchdowns and only eight interceptions.
Barber and Manning are friends and the Broncos' quarterback made a joke about their upcoming matchup.
"I like seeing guys out there older than me," said Manning. "[It] makes me feel good."
It doesn't matter that both of these guys are approaching middle age, they are still exciting to watch and Sunday's game may be the last two we see Barber and Manning on the same field ever again.
So sit back and watch two legends do what they do best as the Bucs and Broncos each try to get a win on their way to the playoffs.Tags: Denver Broncos, Football, NFL, Peyton Manning, Ronde Barber, Tampa Bay, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
