The Tampa Bay Buccaneers already have starting cornerback serving a four-game suspension for using the drug Adderall, which is not permissible to use in the NFL without a prescription.
Well, it looks like their other starting cornerback mimicked teammate Aqib Talib in the pill popping department.
As first reported by FOX NFL reporter Jay Glazer, Eric Wright, who signed a 5-year, $37.5 million deal this offseason with the Bucs, is facing his own four-game suspension for using Adderall.
Adderal is a banned substance and using it without the NFL's consent violates the league's performance enhancing substance policy.
This is bad news for the Bucs. Their secondary is still one of the worst in the league and now they have two starting defensive backs that can't be fully trusted. Wright has also been struggling lately and a suspension for a quarter of the season isn't going to help him fix his coverage issues.
Tampa Bay does get Talib back after next Sunday's game at Oakland, but how ready will he be after sitting out for a month? If indeed Wright does get suspended, the Bucs will have to lean on E.J Biggers, Leonard Johnson, and Brandon McDonald to pick up the slack.
