Yesterday, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed two seventh round picks to four year contracts. They signed Tight End Drake Dunsmore and Running Back Michael Smith.
Michael Smith is a running back from alma mater Utah State and was selected 212th overall. He played 28 games with 12 starts and ran 184 times for 1,327 yards and 15 touchdowns with Utah State. This is the ninth-most is school history! Smith has a career average of 7.1 yards per carry which is ranked best in school history.
Drake Dunsmore is a tight end out of Northwestern and he was selected 233rd overall in the draft. Dunsmore started 29 of the 50 games that he played and he recorded 143 interceptions for 1,567 yards and 14 touchdowns, which is the fourth-most in Northwestern history. As a senior, Dunsmore was the team’s second-leading receiver with 45 catches for 522 yards and six touchdowns. He earned first-team All-Big Ten honors and the Big Ten’s Kwalick-Clark Tight End of the year award.
